Facebook and Instagram ads run on an auction, so there is no fixed price. Guides for Singapore commonly suggest that small businesses spend about SGD 800 to SGD 2,500 a month on ad spend to get enough data to learn from, with more needed to scale. On top of that you may pay an agency or freelancer to manage the ads. This guide shows the typical costs and a simple way to plan your budget.
The two costs
- Ad spend. What you pay Meta to show your ads. You control it and can change it any time.
- Management fee. What you pay someone to set up and improve the ads, if you do not do it yourself. Fees are often a flat monthly amount or a percentage of ad spend. At NoMeet Studio it is 15% of ad spend.
Typical benchmarks in Singapore
Published 2026 guides report ranges like these. They vary by industry, season and creative, and they are not independently verified.
| Measure | Reported range (SGD) | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| CPM, cost per 1,000 views | About 8 to 28 | What you pay for your ad to be shown 1,000 times |
| CPC, cost per click | About 0.55 to 2.15 | What you pay each time someone clicks |
| Cost per lead, service businesses | About 8 to 55 depending on industry | What you pay for each enquiry or form submission |
Instagram usually costs more than Facebook. November and December are commonly the most expensive months because many businesses advertise at once.
A simple way to plan your budget
Work backwards from what a customer is worth:
- Decide the value of a new customer. For example, a customer who brings you SGD 200 in profit.
- Estimate your enquiry-to-customer rate. If one in five enquiries becomes a customer, you need five enquiries per customer.
- Use a cost-per-lead range. If your cost per lead is SGD 25, five enquiries cost SGD 125 per customer.
- Compare. SGD 125 to win a customer worth SGD 200 in profit works. If your cost per lead is SGD 60, the same customer costs SGD 300 and you lose money.
An example with illustrative numbers: a budget of SGD 1,000 at SGD 25 per lead gives about 40 enquiries. If one in five becomes a customer, that is about 8 customers. Replace each number with your own, because they differ for every business.
How much to start with
There is no single right number. As a rule of thumb, start with an amount you are comfortable spending while the ads learn, usually at least a few weeks. Too little budget gives you too little data to improve. Too much too early wastes money on untested ads. Many businesses begin around the lower end of the ranges above, prove that enquiries come in, then raise the budget gradually.
What drives your costs up or down
- Your offer. A clear, valuable offer gets more clicks for the same money.
- Your creative. Real photos and short videos usually beat generic images.
- Your audience. Targeting people nearby or already interested in your type of business wastes less.
- Your landing page. A page that loads fast and makes contacting you easy turns more clicks into enquiries.
- Your industry and season. Competitive industries and peak months cost more.
Common mistakes
- Boosting a post without a goal instead of running a proper campaign
- Sending clicks to a slow or confusing page
- Changing everything every day, so nothing has time to work
- Stopping after a week, before the ads have learned
- Judging by likes and views instead of enquiries and sales
Work with a clear goal
Pick one goal, for example "WhatsApp enquiries from Singapore residents within 5 km", then measure only that. Our Facebook and Instagram ads management service does this: we agree the goal, set up tracking, test a few versions of the ad and send a weekly update on WhatsApp. We do not promise a number of leads.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum budget for Facebook and Instagram ads?
Meta lets you start with a small daily budget. A very small budget gives you little data to learn from, so many businesses start with a few hundred dollars a month, learn what works, then scale.
Do I pay Meta or the agency?
You pay the ad budget to Meta directly. The agency fee, whether a flat fee or a percentage of spend, is separate.
Why are my ads not getting leads?
The most common reasons are an unclear offer, a slow or confusing landing page, a poor audience or creative, and too little budget to learn. Fix the offer and the page before spending more.
